Parts interchangability and sources

Dynastart

The flat springs available from www.smallparts.com are a close match to those used to hold the circular point cover on the Dynastart housing. They are made from .032 spring steel and are 2 3/4" long. The only significant deviation from original is an extra mounting hole. Part number is FS-08-01.

Harley-Davidson part number 30381-63 is an exact match for the SIBA brushes used in the Excelsior Dynastart units. Current availability is unknown.

SIBA Dynastart brushes reportedly are available from both the German and UK Messerschmitt Clubs. The UK price is about US$26 plus shipping and the German price a bit less. You need to be a club member to buy, but it shouldn't be too hard to find a member willing to help out.
